I love taking care of pets and helping them feel safe and loved while their people are away. I offer pet sitting services for clients in North Raleigh, North Carolina. I specialize in cats but gladly take care of dogs or other pets if a client has a variety of pets. I provide pet sitting to pets in their own home so that they can avoid the stress of boarding in a busy and oftentimes noisy veterinary hospital, where they may be exposed to germs from other boarders. During the initial thirty-minute consultation, the client and their pets can meet me, and I can familiarize myself with the location of the pets’ supplies and take notes regarding their care routine. I am fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus, but I still wear a mask while in clients’ homes if they so desire. I continue to wash my hands frequently while taking care of pets and sanitize my hands before entering clients’ homes.
The standard pet sitting visit lasts thirty minutes and is for one to two pets. I feed the pets, change their water, scoop cats’ litter boxes, let dogs out to relieve themselves, walk dogs (if they are accustomed to being walked), clean up any messes (within reason), play with the pets, and offer them comfort in the form of kind words, petting and brushing (if they enjoy being brushed). For households with more than two pets, an additional $1.50 charge per pet beyond two applies per visit. I will bring in the newspaper and mail and will water indoor plants at no charge as part of a pet sitting visit. Visits lasting longer than one-half hour are an option for an extra fee. (See below.)
Fees:
The initial consultation is free of charge if you make your pet sitting reservation before or during the consultation. Otherwise the fee for the consultation is $25. For each trip to the client’s home for pet sitting, the fee is $25.00. Extended visits lasting forty-five minutes are $40, and hour-long visits are $50. Due to my energy therapy schedule, I generally pet sit within eight miles of my house and can only do pet sitting in the mornings and evenings. If special circumstances warrant my traveling beyond eight miles from my house, there is a mileage fee of $.60 / mile for miles traveled beyond that eight-mile radius.
